The Romans are here!

If you saw roman soldiers walking around the school or gladiators standing to attention before their next fight, you are not loosing your senses!

For this year´s British Tradition Day, 6th graders recreated a group of roman soldiers and gladiators to remember the time in which Great Britain was under the influence of one of the greatest Empires of all times: Rome.

Romans first arrived on British soil in 55 AD at the command of Julius Cesar, but didn´t really become part of the Roman Empire till nearly 100 years later. Even though the British fought bravely, they were no match for the superior power and training the Romans had.

Many historical sites still can be seen in Great Britain that show us the magnificence of the Romans, such as Hadrian´s Wall, the roman baths in the beautiful city of Bath, cobblestone streets throughout the island stand intact after more than 2000 years.

The recreation sometimes included recycled materials and objects made in the class. The groups had fun and we invite you to look at some pictures of what we did!
