Ms Verónica Cordero

Ms. Verónica Cordero, profesora de inglés y licenciada en lengua y literatura inglesa el año 2012 de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, llega a nuestro colegio el año 2013. Actualmente se desempeña como profesora en el área senior y es profesora jefe de séptimo básico.

Siempre se ha mostrado interesada por el quehacer pedagógico, siendo incluso en sus tiempos universitarios ayudante de la Dra. Katharina Maria Glas (PUCV) quien fuese en ese entonces coordinadora del núcleo de prácticas, a cargo de hacer convenios entre la universidad y posibles centros de prácticas.

Ms. Cordero se ha desempeñado como profesora de inglés en el Instituto Chileno Norteamericano de Cultura de Valparaíso y en el Instituto Profesional DUOC-UC, y ha trabajado para el Ministerio de Educación en la realización de campamentos de inglés a lo largo de Chile dependientes del Programa Inglés Abre Puertas.
Dentro de sus pasatiempos, se encuentra el teatro, la música y la lectura; elementos que busca incorporar en sus clases.

I graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica of Valparaíso in 2012 obtaining not only a teaching degree but also one in English Literature. I started working at the Mackay in 2013 and currently teach English to senior students preparing them to take Trinity exams or IB Language B exams. I am also the form teacher of 7th Básico C. 

I have always loved teaching and when I was at school I had the privilege of being the assistant student of Dr. Katharina Maria Glas (PUCV). She was the coordinator of the practicum programme at that univerisity, being in charge of searching agreements with different schools that could receive student-teachers. 

I have also worked at the Instituto Chileno Norteamericano de Cultura of Valparaíso and at DUOC-UC. I also worked for the Chilean Ministry of Education being a monitor in different English camps along the country. These camps were part of the program English Opens Doors.

My hobbies are varied: I like reading, singing and acting (not sure if I am good at any of the latter). I am looking forward to finding techniques and new methodologies where I can apply any of the former.
